Piaggio FLY 150

I spent a long time researching various scooters based on my needs and location. It would appear I’ve finally found the one I want. The Piaggio Fly 150.

Did i finally find the scooter I need? for literally a year now, I’ve been going back and forth with this. I can’t decide on style, model, brand etc. I think I’m making up my mind this time and going with the following.

I need 55mph minimum, preferably 60 without making the bike scream it’s guts out. I can’t get anywhere in Memphis without getting on Walnut Grove or Germantown Pkwy. Both of which are 55. In the 2500/3k price range preferably so I can speed up the accuision of said vehicle. I’ve finally settled on leaning to the retro styling even though I dont mind the modern Itallian style. So after being in love with the Symba and the Fiddle II but thinking they won’t go the speeds I need, I kept looking.

I had looked at Piaggios before but not this particular model for whatever reason. I thought I wanted something bigger. The Fly 150 body has a Modern Itallian style body but leans more on the retro styling of its brother company Vespa. Because the body is plastic instead of metal, no rusting, its a little lighter so it’s listed as making it up to 61mph with the 150cc engine which should get the job done. Has the reliablity of the brand name and with the affordable $2,899 price I can buy it new and not have to worry about any issues with it and the previous owner.

As it so happens, somebody in town is again opening another Vespa store I hear which will most likely allow me to order the Fly 150 through them if they dont already have it when they open anyway.

As of right now this is what im aiming for. The Piaggio Fly 150.

Now I need to go purchase a helmet and take the bike training class at Northwest asap.
